So last night, a man riding a bike died from head injuries after being struck by an Arlington cop.
The article doesn’t say whether or not he had a helmet on, but if he “was not wearing reflective gear, and his bike lacked a reflector or light visible from the rear” as the police report said, my guess would be no.
If you’re going to ride at night, buy a set of lights for your bike. Reflectors don’t work, but even the cheapest lights will make you a little more noticeable. And, of course, wear a damned helmet.
